About this event

This session will give participants an appreciation of the basic principles of Research Integrity (rigour, transparency, fairness, etc.) and Responsible Research & Innovation (ethics, public engagement, open access, etc.) and how and why we should all apply them to our day-to-day research practices, from collecting, processing and managing research data, to writing papers, collaborating with colleagues, engaging with stakeholders, etc. Practical examples will be discussed.

The session will also briefly signpost useful resources and training on Research Integrity and RRI, available from the University as well as external websites, and will remind participants of the mandatory training that should be completed by all researchers at the University of Liverpool.

Throughout the session, there will be opportunities for discussion about Research Integrity and RRI aspects that are of particular interest to the audience.

Due to the introductory nature of the session, it is more suitable for PGR students and early career researchers/academics, but researchers at all career levels are welcome to attend.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the basic principles of Research Integrity and Responsible Research & Innovation
  • Be familiar with the University resources and the requirements in terms of mandatory training on Research Integrity
  • Receive practical advice that will hopefully help them to apply Research Integrity and RRI principles to their day-to-day research practices
